Every Monday, ANDPOP brings you a new hilarious personality to follow on Twitter. Because we care, we’ll be assembling some of their greatest tweets to date to reel you in and convince you to push that follow button. We aren’t forcing you to follow these people — we’re just STRONGLY SUGGESTING you do for your own personal enjoyment. Today, we STRONGLY ADVISE you to follow Mindy Kaling at @mindykaling
Okay, Mindy Kaling may seem like an obvious choice for our weekly #MustFollowMonday column — but that’s EXACTLY why you should follow her.
The brilliant comedienne — don’t forget EXTREMELY successful television writer, producer, director and actress, as well as New York Times best-selling author — has been giving us the giggles ever since the American adaptation of The Office hit our small screens. She’s back at it again with The Mindy Project, a show we’re SO happy was saved from cancellation. Whether it be her writing, direction, or on-screen performance, she never fails to make us laugh.
Kaling is all about shaking up the establishment — particularly breaking down barriers within the television industry — creating interesting, imperfect and complex characters people can relate to. She’s given a voice to women and ethnic minorities who aren’t normally represented in this way — and we love her for it.
When she’s not killin’ it on set or in the writer’s room, she’s SLAYING the social media game — sharing hilarious tweets, her fierce sense of style, and sassy commentary on the day’s hot topics. Her #FBF posts?! Also amazing.
Here’s why you should be following Mindy:
First & foremost, she loves the social media platform:
